Messages You’re Probably Missing From Facebook’s ‘Other’ Inbox

You're going to want to slap Zuckerberg when you find out about this, but did you know you have another 'inbox' for your Facebook account?
Our colleague Erica found out about this late last week, and was horrified to discover that she had messages from months ago from important people that were just sitting in her "Other" inbox.
Granted, a lot of the messages were from email lists and were pretty spammy, but some were from important contacts that wanted to connect.
Facebook says they have a separate inbox for "less meaningful messages" from people who are not friends or friends of friends.
Right now, the only way to
change this is to go through each message, click "Actions", and then click "Move to Messages". But you will still have to manually check your "Other' inbox to find any future messages from "meaningless" contacts.
The most frustrating part about the "Other" inbox is that you are never notified either via email or via Facebook about these new messages. Manual checking is the only way to see these messages.
It's one thing if Facebook wants to change the design of the Wall or add a News Ticker; it's entirely different when they fail to tell you someone has contacted you.
So, be sure to keep check your "Other" inbox in case something important comes your way.
